Twist in USC offense could give opponents a unique, difficult look to handle

It may seem against the generally accepted conventional wisdom, but USC could conceivably end up playing in 12 personnel a little more often this season than what many are anticipating.

It is clear that the Trojans have a fantastic one-two punch in Makai Lemon and Ja'Kobi Lane. The tight end room is pretty impressive as well, though, with Lake McRee and Walker Lyons leading the way from the TE position.

Both enter the 2025 season with experience and familiarity in the system and with Jayden Maiava. In a college game that is often about being up-tempo and getting the ball into the hands of the wide receivers, it could end up being a trick up coach Lincoln Riley's sleeve that would allow for the Trojans to be able to have a certain level of advantage through this unique look.
