USC tailback Tre Madden, who sat out last season because of a foot injury, made an impressive return Saturday night, rushing for 106 yards and a touchdown and catching a touchdown pass in the Trojans' 55-6 victory over Arkansas State at the Coliseum.
Madden, a fifth-year senior, rushed for 35 yards in seven carries in the first quarter and then broke off a career-long 65-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to give USC a 21-0 lead. Madden started fast in 2013 as well. He rushed for more than 100 yards in four of the first five games before he suffered a hamstring injury that slowed or sidelined him the rest of the season.
