Prophet Brown to miss opening part of USC season due to non-contact injury

It goes without saying that there is never a good time for an injury. USC redshirt senior Prophet Brown has suffered a non-contact injury. As shared by USCFootball.com's Chris Treviño, the defensive back could be seen on the sidelines during practice on crutches.

The exact nature of the injury has not been shared. It is not, however, believed to be a setback that will force him to miss the entirety of the season.

Brown was expected to be the opening starter in the nickel role. About to start the year in coach D'Anton Lynn's second season with the program, his veteran experience and carryover were going to be important parts to lean on for the defensive coordinator.
