New Disney on Ice show urges kids to ‘Dream Big’

The popular Disney slogan “where dreams come true” has a special meaning for ice skater Tila Tilley.

Since she was 5 years old, the Canadian-born Tilley has hit the ice, performing in competitions throughout the country. Setting her sights on pursuing an ice skating career at age 18, she began to perform as an ensemble skater in Disney on Ice touring productions, which present various films and cartoons into themed ice skating performances.

After 13 years of skating alongside Mickey Mouse and his crew, Tilley began dreaming beyond the ice. After working her way from trainee to line captain, she was promoted to performance director last summer for the show’s touring production “Dream Big.
