Leonard Williams Drafted Sixth Overall By New York Jets

Junior defensive end is USC's nation-leading 78th first-round pick.

USC defensive end Leonard Williams was selected by the New York Jets with the sixth pick of the 2015 NFL Draft on Thursday (April 30), becoming Troy's nation-leading 78th first rounder and the Trojans' first selected in the first round since 2012.

Williams, a two-time All-American first teamer, is USC's highest pick since Matt Kalil was taken fourth by the Minnesota Vikings in 2012.

He is USC's first defensive lineman taken in the first round since Nick Perry was selected 28th by the Green Bay Packers in 2012 and is the highest Trojan defensive lineman taken since the Oakland Raiders picked Darrell Russell second in 1997.
