There are certain figures in sports history who truly transcend any on-field or on-the-court aspects. For USC basketball coach George Raveling is someone whose impact transcends any Xs and Os or final score lines. A Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer and College Basketball Hall of Famer, coach Raveling also achieved great heights in his profession.
What he meant, though, in terms of important societal issues and as a trailblazer, is even more important and admirable.
As shared by the X account of the former Trojan coach, coach Raveling passed away following a battle with cancer at the age of 88.
