Four takeaways from USC’s frustrating loss at Washington

If you’ve watched one USC road loss, you’ve watched them all, including Saturday’s 28-14 disappointment to Washington.

Here are the four big takeaways from the loss:

Helton Consistently Limits USC’s Opportunities

Each and every week, there are clear-cut examples of how Clay Helton and his staff limit the opportunities for their team to be successful on Saturday.

Even if you excused the lack of physicality in practice, the unwillingness to acknowledge obvious problems within any given game, the insufferable coach speak of Helton’s press conferences (say “one play away” again and people are going to snap), and the clear deficiencies in USC’s game plans and ability to adjust to what opponents are doing to them, you are still left with a coach that does a poor job of managing a game.
