Five things Mike Bohn must do as USC athletic director

After nearly two full decades of leadership from within, university president Carol Folt and the USC Board of Trustees have chosen Mike Bohn, who comes to Los Angeles from the University of Cincinnati, to lead Heritage Hall into the 2020s.

Bohn is a refreshing change of pace for supporters of USC because of his lack of ties to the university and his previous experiences in athletic administration. He has been an athletic director since 1998 with stops at the University of Idaho, San Diego State, University of Colorado, and Cincinnati.

Known for his ability to be inclusive and generate excitement for the athletic programs of his university, Bohn must earn back the trust of the USC fan base if he hopes to return Trojan athletics to its place as the “City on a Hill” for collegiate athletics on the west coast.
