Analyzing key concepts and plays from USC’s rout of Stanford

What a difference a week can make.

Following USC’s 31-23 victory over Fresno State, many USC supporters (myself included) felt they would be subjected to lackluster Trojan football for a third straight season.

After falling behind Stanford 14-3 and then fumbling away the ensuing kickoff, hope was stricken from even the sunniest of sunshine pumpers in the fanbase. USC was not getting it done.

But then the Trojan defense, who appeared to be overmatched for nearly the entire first quarter, forced a field goal to create momentum for the offense.

True freshman quarterback Kedon Slovis, who was impressive in his first two drives, found second-string receivers Munir McClain and Devon Williams to get things rolling.
