Even though USC Football was considered one of the hottest teams in college football by the end of the 2016 season, the Trojans suffered too many early defeats to make a serious run at the Pac-12 title game and, by extension, the College Football Playoff.
Entering 2017, Clay Helton and the Trojans stand in better position to seek a spot in the playoff, with the quarterback position settled and plenty of other exciting weapons to deploy offensively and defensively.
