3 Reasons Why USC Is Guaranteed To Beat Washington

The USC Trojans got back on the winning track after crushing the Arizona State 42-14 in the desert on September 26th. We've got no doubts in our mind that they'll keep that roll going on Thursday when they host the Washington Huskies. Here's 3 Reasons Why USC Is Guaranteed To Beat Washington.

1. Cody Kessler

We'd be happy to place Kessler as #1, #2 AND #3 on this list, but we feel that might be cheating. That gives you an idea, however, of just how fantastic he has been during his current 15-touchdown, one-interception run through the Trojans' early schedule. People have cooled on the Heisman talk with Kessler because of the Trojans' loss to Stanford. That's a travesty. You'll see why when he gashes the Huskies secondary for four touchdowns on Thursday.

2. The Justin Wilcox Effect

The USC defensive coordinator is quite familiar with Washington HC Chris Peterson's offensive game-planning -- he started his career as a graduate assistant under Petersen when he was an offensive coordinator at Boise State. Five years later, Petersen hired Wilcox as defensive coordinator when he came head coach of the Broncos. What does that mean? It means Wilcox will have plenty of inside information when it comes to Petersen's coaching tendencies. It'll pay off, big time.

3. Long Week In LA

The Trojans are undoubtedly the more talented of the two teams both athletically and from a polished on-field product standpoint. That talent gap is only going to get amplified as USC's horses (pun intended) come in with an extra few days of rest behind them. If USC wins by anything less than 17 in this one, it's an upset.
