On April 15th, the UNLV women’s golf team entered the first round of the Mountain West Championship at Mission Hills Golf Club in Rancho Mirage, California, with the quest of what would be their fourth consecutive championship.
The Rebels shot 22-over 310 collectively as a team and placed fourth after the first round. Polly Mack and Cathy Liu, UNLV’s sophomore duo for the day, shot 2-over 74 and tied for fifth place. Freshman Veronica Joels and senior Shannon Oh finished seven shots behind Mack and Liu, shooting 9-over 81 tying for 27th. In addition, senior Elizabeth Prior tied for 37th place shooting 11-over 83.
