Facing the best team in the Mountain West Conference, the UNLV Rebels volleyball fell just short losing 3-1 to the Fresno State Bulldogs Thursday, Oct. 11. Both teams sport an overall 13-6 record following the outcome.
The loss drops UNLV to 5-5 on the road and 4-3 in the conference, good for a tie for fifth place. Fresno St. sits atop of the conference with a 5-1 Mountain West record.
Things started outright bad for the Rebels, losing the match’s opening set 25-10. Early in the set, UNLV trailed 4-3 before Fresno St. went on a 17 to six run before taking the eventual frame.
