As if returning to practice at 8:10 a.m. Monday morning following a week off for spring break wasn’t sobering enough for the UNLV football team, it had to contend with wind gusts of up to 60 mph at Rebel Park.
The UNLV defense capitalized on the blustery conditions, coming up with four interceptions as quarterbacks Johnny Stanton, Kurt Palandech and Dalton Sneed each struggled throwing the ball.
“We’re not used to having all this wind out here. A couple of those balls were behind guys,” Rebels coach Tony Sanchez said. “It felt like the first day back.
