Abandoned sports venues typically conjure up nostalgic memories for fans filled with recollections of team triumphs and good times. That won’t be the case for the UNLV football team and its fans when it comes to Sam Boyd Stadium.
The stadium has housed the Rebel football team for the last 49 seasons, but the team will say goodbye to the outdated, off campus venue as they are moving to Allegiant Stadium next season which they will share with the Raiders.
“Sam Boyd Stadium lacks a lot of modern amenities that you are looking for in a comprehensive gameday experience,” said Todd Fuhrman, FOX Sports analyst.
