UNLV’s pursuit to become a Power 5 conference school could take a leap come 2020.
The UNLV Runnin’ Rebels basketball program has been added to the 37th annual Maui Invitational tournament field.
This will mark the fourth time in program history the Rebels have received an invite.
UNLV will join Alabama, Davidson, Indiana, North Carolina, Providence, Stanford and Texas as participants come next year.
It’s important to note that five teams representing the Power 5 conferences will be active in the tournament.
- Alabama – Southeastern Conference
- Indiana – Big Ten Conference
- North Carolina – Atlantic Coast Conference
- Stanford – Pac 12
- Texas – Big 12
In addition, the tournament will feature three of the top 20 winningest programs in college basketball history.
