In a season filled with ups and downs, the Rebels headed into senior night having won four of their last five games. For guys like Daniel Moran, the senior midfielder who is second in the team lead for goals with six this season, this game meant a lot.
Early on, Grand Canyon University jumped ahead to a two-goal lead. First, sophomore Marco Alfonso, a forward out of South Africa, struck first for the Antelopes. Then, just seven minutes later at exactly 31:00 into the first half, freshmen defender Esai Easley unexpectedly scored to give himself his first goal of his collegiate career, and the Antelopes a 2-0 lead heading into the second-half.
