NSHE Chancellor wants UNLV to Come First in Raiders Negotiations

NSHE Chancellor Thom Reilly outlined the principles UNLV’s negotiating team will abide by when working with the Oakland Raiders to create a joint-use agreement for the new stadium expected to open in 2020.

UNLV hired attorney Daniel Etna of Herrick Feinstein LLP, a New York City law firm, in July after the Raiders submitted a draft of a joint-use agreement that suggested the university should provide thousands of on-campus parking spaces for free on Raiders game days. Etna’s services will cost UNLV $745 per hour, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

Las Vegas’ Stadium Authority Board wants an agreement by October, but Reilly said at last Thursday’s NSHE Board of Regents meeting that it is unlikely they will meet that deadline because of the parking issue.
