From Boston and Philadelphia putting on a summer league classic, to the highly anticipated debut of No.1 overall pick, Deandre Ayton, the opening day of the 2018 NBA Summer League inside of the Thomas & Mack Center was one to remember.

New Orleans def. Toronto 90-77

The New Orleans Pelicans may have lost all-star center Demarcus Cousins just less than a week ago, but the organization at least began their summer league season with a 90-77 victory Friday afternoon over the Toronto Raptors.

With neither team fielding a first-round pick from the 2018 draft, second-round draft picks like Pelican’s guard Tony Carr and several other undrafted players looked to shine in front of NBA scouts looking to fill out their rosters.
