“Win the conference, play in the postseason,” UNLV baseball head coach Stan Stolte said during the Meet the Team event on Friday, Feb. 9 at the Earl E. Wilson Stadium.
Simple as that. That’s the bottom line for Stolte coming into the 2018 season. With a Mountain West Conference record of 10-20 last year, the head coach has his priorities well in check.
He added, “Hard to win games when you can’t get anybody out.” The UNLV baseball team acquired a 6.54 ERA for the 2017 campaign, finishing with a 20-36 overall record.
With pitching not being the Achilles’ heel for the Rebels, the squad made up for it with their hitting.
