According to UNLV head coach Tony Sanchez the Rebels were given every opportunity to get their first conference win but just could not seize the moment.

The Air Force Falcons came in and spoiled Homecoming Night beating UNLV 41-35.

Sanchez said, “We had our opportunities and we spurted at some inopportune times […] They fought their tail off for four quarters, they were down big, got back in it and gave themselves a chance to win at the very end but the bottom line, the execution wasn’t there.”

With a chance to tie the game and possibly take the lead on a fourth and one, sophomore quarterback Max Gilliam’s pass fell to the turf, incomplete.
