Las Vegas Ballpark being built in Summerlin

The ground has been broken on the Las Vegas 51s’ new stadium located in Downtown Summerlin. The stadium will be located eight acres south of City National Arena, the practice facility home of the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights.

The original groundbreaking was proposed for January of this year. It was confirmed that the Howard Hughes Corporation officially began construction on the Las Vegas Ballpark Friday, Feb. 23.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority purchased the naming rights to the proposed ballpark for 20 years for approximately $80 million. The LVCVA board of directors’ vote ended in an 8-2 count.
