While the NBA season is a seven month journey for many and a nine month trek for others, the FIBA World Cup schedule will provide new challenges for even the wildest of veterans.
From intrasquad scrimmages to a tune-up exhibitions, Team USA only has six friendly games prior to the start of the World Cup.
“Every game is important — exhibition games count for us,” forward Khris Middleton said. “We have to take it as a real game because the next thing, we’ll be in tournament play.”
Middleton is one of the eight players on the roster of 15 who are at least 27 years of age or older at the start of camp.
