Chatterbox Corner: Golden State owes a lot to Mark Jackson

Every year since 2014, as the NBA playoffs begin, a certain level of frustration builds inside me. Sixteen teams are vying for a shot to call themselves World Champions. In the three years since, the Golden State Warriors have earned the right to call themselves that twice.

That fact doesn’t make my blood boil as much as what transpired beforehand. Before Steve Kerr came in and “sparked” this warrior dynasty, there was another man who could and should be credited, at least partially, for the team’s success.

Mark Jackson coached Golden State from 2011-2014, during that time he compiled a record of 121-109.
