After a remarkable first season in Division I of the American Collegiate Hockey Association, UNLV hoped to take greater steps in its second season. The Skatin’ Rebels made the national tournament in its first season and lost 3-2 in overtime to Ohio University in the second round.
This year, UNLV had an opportunity to avenge its loss to Ohio in the ACHA National Tournament.
However, for the second consecutive season, the Skatin’ Rebels season came to a close at the hands of the Ohio Bobcats. This time, the Bobcats controlled the whole game en route to a 5-1 victory.
