Ban sets record as UNLV men’s golf captures 3-peat

Sunday, April 22 UNLV men’s golf senior standout and national player of the year watchlist member Shintaro Ban set Mountain West tournament records for best combined score, his sunday round left his score at 200 or 16 under par, and largest margin of victory, he won by nine strokes.

Ban’s historic performance led the Rebels to their third consecutive men’s golf conference title and guaranteed the team a spot in the NCAA Regionals.

Though Ban was stellar, he needed help from his teammates to bring home the conference championship trophy. Including Ban, four of the five participating Rebels finished in the top 13.
