U.S. Soccer preparing bid to host 2027 Women’s World Cup

The United States Soccer Federation is seeking the opportunity to host two World Cups in a row. During a press conference introducing Kate Markgraf as the USWNT’s first general manager, USSF president Carlos Cordeiro once again revealed that the Federation is planning to submit a bid to FIFA to host the 2027 Women’s World Cup.

Part of “Vision 2027,” Markgraf will lead the bid preparation and campaign as part of her duties as the head of the women’s program. Cordeiro had hinted at a possible 2027 World Cup bid during the USSF Annual General Meeting back in February, stating during his speech to attendees, “We need to ensure excellence across all our women’s teams.
