Great news, fans of United States soccer teams! The Assosicated Press reports that Ian Darke will be staying with ESPN through the year 2020. As you probably know, the incomparable Darke has been with ESPN as their lead announcer for USA matches since his heroic performance for the company during the 2010 World Cup.
He captured the heart of America during the USA's win over Algeria in the final group match in South Africa. Everyone remembers Landon Donovan's last gasp winner, but perhaps more memorable is Darke's iconic call of the goal that still lives on (even as my current text alert) to this day.
