Weston McKennie's excellent week, which included a game-winning goal in Champions League play and another goal on Saturday, came to a disappointing halt after suffering a right adductor strain that will now keep him out of the U.S. national team's October friendlies.
McKennie joins Christian Pulisic and Tyler Adams on the list of starting USMNT midfielders who have been sidelined by injuries that will now keep all three out of matches against Colombia, on October 11, and Peru, on October 16.
Pulisic has been sidelined by a torn calf muscle, while Adams was forced out of the upcoming USMNT camp with a back injury.
