Jesse Gonzalez is no longer be eligible to represent Mexico on the international level after FIFA approved a one-time switch to the United States, U.S. Soccer announced Thursday.

Gonzalez was born in North Carolina and grew up in Texas but qualified for Mexico citizenship through his parents. The FC Dallas goalkeeper played for Mexico on the Under-20 and U-23 levels, although he never made a senior team appearance.
