Cuba friendly should reveal Klinsmann's preferred backline

With tough World Cup qualifiers looming in November, look for the U.S. national team to settle on a first-choice defense for Friday's friendly against Cuba.

If Mexican national team scouts made the trip to Cuba to watch the U.S. national team take on the Cubans on Friday, they will want to take note of the starting defense Jurgen Klinsmann deploys.

There is a very strong likelihood that, barring injury, it will be the same defense Klinsmann trots out in November to try and stop El Tri.

The October friendlies were expected to be a chance to see John Brooks and Geoff Cameron partnered in central defense again after their outstanding work together at Copa America, but Klinsmann could be lining things up to deploy a different-looking defense in November than we saw at Copa America.
