Adam Kwarasey opts out of Black Stars duty

Ghana will be without goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey for the 2019 Africa Cup of Cup qualifier against Ethiopia and friendlies against USA and Mexico after he pulled out for family reasons.

The Brondby and former Portland Timbers goalkeeper has told the Ghana Football Association that he would not be able to honour the invitation, which prolongs his absence from the Black Stars after he withdrew from the 2017 Nations Cup squad as well.

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah confirmed the news to KweséESPN, but would not elaborate on the reasons for Kwarasey's withdrawal.

It leaves Appiah with three home-based goalkeepers to rely on for the qualifier against Ethiopia and the friendlies in the US.
