One of the most-talked about prospects in American soccer over the last few years has proven why so many are following his every move. Gio Reyna, in only his third appearance for the Borussia Dortmund first-team, has scored his first senior level goal. And what a fantastic goal it was.
In Dortmund’s German Cup Round of 16 match with Werder Bremen, the 17-year-old came off the bench with his side trailing and after just 11 minutes on the field, unleashed an unstoppable curling effort into the top corner to make the score 3-2.
After officially arriving in Germany in 2019, Reyna has worked his way through the Dortmund youth system and cracked the first team.
