Wambach calls it a career with emotional send-off

International soccer's all-time leading scorer played her final professional match as the U.S. fell 1-0 to China in New Orleans.

Abby Wambach's legendary career has come to an end.

International soccer's all-time leading scorer took the field for the final time Wednesday, logging 72 minutes of the U.S. national team's 1-0 friendly loss to China in New Orleans.

It marked the 255th cap for Wambach, who leads all players — men or women — with 184 international goals. After securing gold medals at the 2004 and 2012 Olympics, Wambach capped her legacy with a Women's World Cup crown this past summer.
