USWNT held to draw by France, set up for crucial clash with England in SheBelieves Cup

The USWNT opened the SheBelieves Cup with a win over Germany on Thursday, but Jill Ellis' side was held to 1-1 draw by France on Sunday to set up a crucial final match against England on Wednesday.

Mallory Pugh scored her third goal of the year for the USWNT in the 35th minute, powering home a strike after a scramble in front of goal, but the lead would be short-lived.

France pulled level in the 38th minute through Eugénie Le Sommer, and the two sides went to the break level.

Despite holding a sizable advantage on possession throughout the match, the USA had a number of scares throughout the second half, with France rolling up 14 shots.
