The United States Men’s National Team won their 2nd continental title in the span of a couple months, winning the Gold Cup on Sunday night against Mexico with a 1-0 extra time victory. Their archrivals were also the opponent in the Concacaf Nations League Final, which also ended with an American victory after extra time, 3-2 being the final score.
Head coach Gregg Berhalter steered two separate rosters to those titles, opting to bring his A lineup to the Nations League and go through the Gold Cup with players that he thought could rise to the occasion.
