The U.S. national team team will come up against former coach Pia Sundhage in the quarterfinals at the Olympic Games in Brazil after Sweden booked its place in the last eight Tuesday.
Sundhage led the U.S. to Olympic gold in 2008 and 2012, as well as overseeing a run to the final of the 2011 Women's World Cup, but will now be tasked with inflicting a shock defeat on the defending champion and tournament favorite.
