Andy Robertson says taking to the pitch for Liverpool against Newcastle helped him get over a “tough” international break with Scotland.
Robertson played a key role in the Reds’ 3-1 win at Anfield on Saturday that maintained their 100 per cent start to the season.
The win combined with Manchester City’s shock defeat at Norwich moved Jurgen Klopp’s side five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
It was a successful end to a difficult week for Robertson, whose Scotland side suffered damaging Euro 2020 qualifying defeats at home to Russia and Belgium over the international break.
