Woman found in New Haven driveway died of strangulation, police say

A pedestrian found the West Haven woman unresponsive in an Arthur Street driveway about 8:15 a.m. June 12, police said at the time. Medics were unable to revive her and pronounced her dead at the scene.

Detectives continue to investigate the death of Rivas, who loved to dance, cook and spend time with her five children, according to her family. Anyone with information is asked to call the New Haven Police Department at 203-946-6304.
