Police are looking for witnesses to a fatal car-pedestrian collision on the Silas Deane Highway Wednesday night.
The collision happened about 8:15 p.m., after it was dark, at 1310 Silas Deane Highway. First responders provided emergency care to the pedestrian, and the woman was taken to Hartford Hospital, where she died, Lt. Donald Crabtree said.
The car’s driver stayed at the scene and had not been charged as of Thursday morning. It wasn’t clear if the fact that it was dark played a role in the collision, he said.
The change of seasons is difficult for drivers, Crabtree said.
