Willimantic woman pleads guilty to second-degree manslaughter for injecting man with cocaine

A Willimantic woman who stole a man’s truck, phone and wallet after injecting him with a syringe full of cocaine pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter Friday evening.

Teresa Deriso, 40, spent a 2017 October afternoon doing cocaine and heroin with a man in Windham, police said. Deriso admitted that after he passed out, she injected him with what would be a fatal dose of cocaine and stole multiple items before leaving him without medical help, they said.

“Troop K and Windham Fire Department found a deceased white male unresponsive with a syringe still lodged in his arm,” prosecutors said.
