A 27-year-old man broke into a woman’s West Haven apartment Tuesday night and sexually assaulted her, police said.
The woman, who police describe as “elderly,” called police about 7:20 p.m. and reported the assault at the Surfside 200 apartments, 200-204 Oak St., they said.
Officers arrived at the building and met the woman, who told them the man was still inside her apartment. Police said they rushed to her apartment and took Giani Morales of Springfield, Mass. into custody
Police charged Morales with home invasion, first-degree burglary, first-degree sexual assault and third-degree assault of an elderly person.
