UConn football’s defense is bad. Really bad. Currently, they’re on pace to be the worst defense in the 21st century. Since 2000, the Huskies are the only team to give up at 2,000 total yards in their first three games and are allowing 9.62 yards per play, two yards more than anyone else in the past 10 years.
Head coach Randy Edsall understands it hasn’t been good. He knows the stats. But with so much youth, all he can do is keep slowly developing the players as the season goes on.
“I know the number aren’t good and all that stuff,” he said.
