U.S. Marshals: MIT researcher wanted for murder of Yale grad student in custody

U.S. Marshals in Alabama say they have arrested the MIT researcher police believe is responsible for the death of a Yale grad student Kevin Jiang.

“We are pleased to announce this morning, the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Middle District of Alabama and the Montgomery Police Department, arrested Fugitive Qinxuan Pan,” they said in a news release.

The manhunt for Pan went national weeks after Feb. 11, when Pan was last seen. He was last seen on that day driving with relatives in towns just northeast of Atlanta, carrying a black backpack and “acting strange,” his family told investigators.
