In a rematch of last season’s AAC Tournament Final, the UConn Huskies women’s soccer team defeated the SMU Mustangs, 2-1.
“They fight now. It’s not a guarantee we’re going to win them all but that’s what we want,” said head coach Len Tsantiris. “If we played like that at the beginning of the season, it would be a totally different season.”
The Huskies pulled ahead with just two minutes left after Erin Spillane sent a ball over the top to Yamilee Eveillard, who blew past the defense and finished it to put UConn ahead, 2-1.
