UConn women’s basketball improved to 4-0 in conference play Wednesday night with a 75-33 win at Tulane. Sophomore Megan Walker led the Huskies to victory with a career-high 34 points on 11-16 shooting and added 10 rebounds for her first career double-double.
The Huskies struggled with their perimeter shooting (7-24), turnovers (18) and foul trouble, but an impressive defensive performance allowed them to hold Tulane to just 18 percent shooting and just 33 points.
The Huskies pulled ahead early thanks to a handful of turnovers from the Green Wave. A strong defensive performance held Tulane scoreless for the last eight minutes of the first quarter, giving the Huskies the 18-4 advantage.
