UConn women’s basketball class of 2018 signee Christyn Williams has been named the Gatorade National Girls Basketball Player of the Year. She was surprised with the award by Washington Mystics forward Elena Delle-Donne during a morning workout on Saturday, March 24.
The Little Rock, Arkansas native has also been named the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association High School Player of the Year, the Naismith Trophy High School Player of the Year, and Morgan Wootten Player of the Year. She will play in both the McDonald’s All-American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic.
Last season, Williams average 26.8 points, 10.
