In a star-studded Senior Day affair, UConn women’s basketball defeated the Houston Cougars, 83-61, at Gampel Pavilion on Saturday.
UConn honored both Napheesa Collier and Katie Lou Samuelson, unveiling their spots on the Huskies of Honor, and also retired Rebecca Lobo’s No. 50. Along with all the festivities, Kobe Bryant watched from the first row behind the UConn bench with his daughter.
Samuelson would only play 18 minutes in her final regular season game at Gampel Pavilion. In the second quarter, the senior collided with a Houston player while going after a loose ball and stayed down on the ground.
