In a return trip of last year’s opening series, Alabama-Huntsville and UConn will do battle for two games at the XL Center this weekend.
Game one, opening night for the Huskies, will drop the puck at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday’s game will be a matinee, at 4:05 p.m. on what will be a busy day in UConn athletics. Football plays Cincinnati at 11:30 a.m. and men’s soccer also takes on the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m.
Alabama-Huntsville has carved out a nice niche as the only school playing men’s college hockey at the varsity level south of the Mason-Dixon Line.
