After putting together the best season in program history and nabbing a spot in the Hockey East quarterfinals, the UConn men’s hockey team was voted by the league’s coaches to finish eighth at Hockey East media day.
Last season, the Huskies finished fifth in Hockey East with a 15-19-2 overall record and an 11-12-1 mark in conference play. After losing talent like Max Letunov and Spencer Naas to graduation, UConn may just be the most volatile team in the conference this year. With their fair share of young talent coming in (and already on the roster), the Huskies have the talent to put together a similar performance to last year, but the coaches seem to think this influx of youth could temporarily set the team back.
